– With the SweDock system we got a safe, quick and easy unloading of the goods that come to us, says Erik Soderberg, head of the goods receipt at Clas Ohlson, Insjön, Sweden.

– We had some small incidents with forklifts that slide off due to the forces that arise when forklifts are driving on board the loading platform. It could easily have run into serious accidents, so we started looking for a safe and convenient system to improve the working environment for our forklift drivers. Finally we invested in the vehicle restraint system from SweDock which completely met our expectations.

– Before that, trucks were secured with straps, wires and manual chock heads. Forklift drivers were then required to go outside and check that trucks were properly secured.

– Today, when we use the SweDock system, forklift drivers can see from the inside when trucks are secured. On the inside of the gate there is a signal that changes from red to green when a truck is in place and properly secured. Then our forklift drivers know that it is safe to begin unloading the cargo. As an added safety, it is not possible to open the door unless a truck is secured.

– It is much quicker and easier for drivers to secure the load now with SweDock, compared to when they had to use manual chock heads. This system is self-instructing, which is good for us because we have goods delivered to us by many different drivers, many of them are foreign and dont know the language.
